The 1972 Story

We opened our Dennis Village doors on June 27th, 2024 - but our brand was born in the summer of 1972, when Dr. William & Ann Johnson, our Founder's beloved Grandparents, moved into a butter yellow Colonial home in Yarmouth Port on Cape Cod. Close enough to the bayside waters to feel the salt on your skin and catch a sliver of blue from an upstairs window - far enough to shake the sand from your feet on a walk home.

For over 50 years, Ann & Bill cultivated a community of eclectic friends, raised a loving family, hosted elaborate parties and gave champagne toasts in the shadow of the same chandelier that hangs in our shop, in a home first inhabited by Captain William Thacher Taylor.

The first of its kind on the Cape, THACH seeks to honor its heritage by providing a space to foster community and offer global, curated brands to locals & visitors alike.

Furthermore, we hope to build upon the legacy of our loved ones through beautifully and thoughtfully designed pieces crafted in our Founder's second home of NYC. Her grandfather would be proud.
